Gomez told his first story at The Moth Story SLAM in Chicago to get over his stuttering problem. To his surprise, he won that night and has not stopped telling stories since. He has gone on to win over 80 Moth slams/ He has been featured at the St. Louis Storytelling Festival, Spring Grove Storytelling Festival, Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, and many other festivals around the nation and the world.
