Program Description

Event Details

The summer solstice is the longest day of the year and the shortest night.  In this two-part program, we want to preserve the flowers of the Summer Solstice and remember the beauty of summer on December 21. In June, gardens are overflowing with colors. Bring in some flowers from your garden, it's best to bring in flowers that are naturally flat and have single-layered petals, such as pansies, violas, daisies, cosmos, and sweet alyssum. On December 21, we'll remember the beauty of summer when you bring your pressed flowers back to the Library and we'll create a beautiful picture or bookmarks with them.
