Program Description

Event Details

Add one of the most sought-after plants to your houseplant collection -- Monstera Adansonii (Swiss Cheese Plant)! Plant propagation is the process of collecting clippings from one plant to grow an entirely new one. Please register in advance for this program in order to receive a kit with everything you need to start your new plant. Once the cuttings are prepared, you will be contacted and must pick up between 8/3-8/7.

Due to limited supplies, we can only accommodate 30 registrants. Those on the waitlist will be notified in the order of registration if extra cuttings become available. If you cannot pick up your cutting between 8/3-8/7 please call 708.422.8522 to release it to the next person.

View the instructions at https://youtu.be/mQCX9s_PLgY

Registrants will receive:

  • Paper instructions for starting your clipping
  • 2 Monstera nodes (Note: these nodes have no leaves. You are only receiving 2 nodes from which roots and a new plant will grow)
  • Sphagnum moss or soil
  • 2" pot or plastic container

Bonus: Everyone who registers for the program (including waitlist) will be entered into a giveaway for one of two rooted cuttings with leaves. Winners will be notified on August 10. Winners must be able to pick up their clippings from the library.
