In his new book, Be The Driving Force: Leading Your School on The Road to Equity, Dr. Don Parker discusses how school leaders and teachers can collaborate to lead transformational change in schools to optimize learning for ALL students. Teachers need support in the classroom as students' educational needs surmount their capacity to adequately serve all students. This causes teachers to feel overwhelmed which leads to stress, burnout, and teacher attrition. Dr. Parker shares how school leaders can serve the needs of students and teachers through equitable strategies that create learning environments where the entire school community thrives. Dr. Parker is a former teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Adjunct Professor, and now is a national speaker, education consultant, professional development provider, and two-time author.
Dr. Parker resides in Evergreen Park with his wife Claudia Parker and 2 daughters, the younger of whom has a rare genetic disease called FoxP1 syndrome and autism. He and his family regularly promote autism and FoxP1 gene mutation awareness and support the FoxP1 and autism communities.
