Event Details

High school book lovers are invited to the Evergreen Reads for the Lincoln Award: IL Teen Readers' Choice Award Kickoff Party. EPPL Teen Librarian Mary Black and EPCHS Media Specialist Dr. Tina Ward will provide information about the Lincoln Award, the reading challenge, the 2025 Illinois Lincoln Award Master List of 20 YA novels, and all the great programs planned throughout the year.  Enjoy snacks, drinks, and raffle prizes!

The Lincoln Award is awarded annually to the author of the book voted as most outstanding by participating students in grades nine through twelve in Illinois. The award is named for Abraham Lincoln, one of Illinois' most famous residents and himself an avid reader and noted author. The award is sponsored by the Association of Illinois School Library Educators (AISLE). High School students are invited to read a minimum of four out of twenty nominated books on the 2025 Master List in order to cast a vote for the best book of 2025.
